Andrew Jackson, Lee to play for SCISA AA baseball title; Richard Winn, Holly Hill to battle in Class A rematch
All four teams complete sweeps in semifinal series
Andrew Jackson Academy and Lee Academy will play for the SCISA AA baseball state title next week, while defending state champion Richard Winn Acaemy will do battle with defending runner-up Holly Hill Academy for the Class A championship after all four teams completed sweeps of their best-of-3 semifinal series on Tuesday.
AJA defeated Oakbrook Prep 5-3, while Lee defeated defending state champion Dorchester Academy 5-0. RWA came away with a 4-0 win over Jefferson Davis Academy, and Holly Hill defeated Marlboro Academy 14-7.
The AAAA and AAA championship matchups could be set up after Wednesday's games. Undefeated Ben Lippen will lay host to Pinewood Prep at 6:30 p.m. in the 5-team, double-elimination AAAA upper bracket championship round, while undefeated Hilton Head Christian Academy will be at home against Cardinal Newman at 6:30 p.m. for the AAAA lower bracket title. In AAA, undefeated Orangeburg Prep will be at home against St. John's Christian Academy at 7 p.m. in the upper bracket, while undefeated Hilton Head Prep will welcome in Calhoun Academy at 5 p.m. in the lower bracket.
If any of the visiting teams win on Wednesday, the deciding game will be played on Thursday at a neutral site.
Each of the best -of-3 state championship series are scheduled to play games on Monday, May 12, and Tuesday, May 13. If a third game is needed, it will be played at a neutral site on Thursday, May 15.

Oakbrook Prep 3
Spartanburg -- Andrew Jackson scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie and top Oakbrook Prep 5-3 at the OP field.
Eighth-grader Channing Terry worked six innings to pick up the victory for the Warriors, who improved to 14-7 on the season. He scattered nine hits while striking out three and walking three. Jack Walling pitched the seventh to get the save.
Walling also hit a home run. Landon Johnson and Hayden McClung both had two hits with Johnson doubling and scoring a run, and McClung having a run scored and a run batted in. Walker Terry and Hall Sease both had a hit and an RBI.
The Knights finished with a 19-6-1 record.
Lee Academy 5
Dorchester 0
St. George -- Myles Frye pitched a 5-hit shutout to lead Lee to a 5-0 victory over Dorchester at the DA field.
Frye struck out six and walked three to lead the Cavaliers, who improved to 15-6. Lee played errorless ball behind Frye and turned four double plays.
Tyler Gilbert led Lee's 10-hit attack, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBI and one run. Landon Olson had two hits, including a double, and scored a run. Frye had a double, Tucker Rodgers had a hit and an RBI, Andrew Bowers had a hit and scored twice, and Brayden Davis had a hit and a run.
Landon Holley and Warren Judy both had two hits for the Raiders.

Holly Hill 14
Marlboro Academy 7
Bennettsville -- Holly Hill set up a rematch with Richard Winn for the Class A title with a 14-7 victory over Marlboro at the MA field,
Parker Kizer led the offfense for the Raiders, who improved to 11-8. He was 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI, while Mason Connor had two hits, two runs and two RBI. Tyler Green had a hit and two RBI..
Connor pitched four innings to pick up the victory. He struck out four while allowing four earned runs.
Richard Winn 4
Jefferson Davis 0
Blackville -- Jonathan Bonds tossed a 6-hit shutout to lead Richard Winn to a 4-0 victory at the JDA field.
Bonds struck out 11 and walked just one for the Eagles, who improved to 15-3.
Owen Martin had three of RWA's seven hits to go with an RBI. Bennett Nicholson had two hits, two runs and two stolen bases, Charlie Bonds had a hit and an RBI, and Turner Burchell had a hit.
Corbin Perry and Landen Williams both had two hits for the Raiders, who finished at 13-9. Perry had two stolen bases, Reece Still had a double, and Colson Loadholt had JDA's other hit.
Loadholt took the loss on the mound. He pitched six innings, allowing seven hits while walking three and striking out eight. He allowed all four runs, two of them earned.
Will Stillinger pitched a scoreless seventh.
