Summerville – The Pinewood Prep Boys Soccer Team accomplished many of its goals under coach Nick Brammer during his first season with the program.

Brammer took over an already successful team and the Panthers continued to be competitive. In fact, Pinewood advanced all the way to the SCISA 3A Boys Soccer Championship match, where it lost 3-2 to First Baptist.

“We won our fourth straight region championship and earned the No. 1 overall seed for playoffs,” Brammer said. “Overall, I’m very proud of the boys. We played a very challenging schedule and still won a lot of games. We came up a little short in the state championship, but I love my team and enjoyed the ride.”

Pinewood went 7-1 in its region to capture the region crown. The sole loss came to First Baptist April 15, but the Panthers turned around and won a penalty kick shootout at First Baptist April 24. That was the Hurricanes’ second loss in the region.

Some of the Panthers’ other wins came over Hilton Head Christian Academy, Cane Bay, Stratford, and Porter-Gaud.

“One incredible thing about this team is we were only at full strength for eight of our 18 games,” Brammer said. “We got hit with injuries early in the season and sickness at the end of the season, but the boys just continued to battle through adversity. It was just an awesome group to coach.”

Pinewood finished the season with an 11-6-1 record.

Seniors Alex Hylton, Harrison Reagin and Bri Morgan are the team’s captains. Sophomore Briggs Gwozdo was the leading points earner with six goals and nine assists on the season. Senior Dylen Gauthier led in goals with 10 on the season. Reagin finished with six goals and four assists.

Sophomore goal keeper Asher Miller had five shutouts on the season.

Gwozdo was named to the SCISA 3A Boys All-State Team, earning first-team honors. Gwozdo, Gauthier, Hylton, Morgan and Matteo Kingan were all named all-region.

Other members of the team are, Zach Haynes, Will Pesce, Josh Danielson, Walker Murray, Pascal Francis, Dominic Tafur, Philip Brueggemeir, Dylan Merrill, Will Sams, Elias Earwood, Nico Rivera, David Tafur and Jeremiah Bowens.

Baseball

The Pinewood Baseball Team finished the season with a 26-7 record. The Panthers swept their region, going 12-0 to capture the SCISA 4A Region 3 Championship. Pinewood won playoff games against Porter-Gaud and Wilson Hall before being eliminated from the playoffs.

Five members of the team received all-region honors. Pitcher/infielder Max Poulakis was named the 2025 SCISA 4A Region 3 Region Player of the Year. Pitcher/infielder Finley Taylor, pitcher/utility player Carson Good, pitcher/infielder Grady Fuller and pitcher/outfielder Camden Abernathy were also selected for the all-region team.

Other all-region honors

The Pinewood Girls Soccer Team landed Isabelle Pesce, Paisleigh Dasinger, Kailen Dasinger and Madeira Gwozdo on the all-region team.

Six members of the Pinewood Girls Lacrosse Team were selected for the all-region honors. Grace Manes and Sophia Testa were named First Team All-region. Kiyah Morris, Campbell Reagin and Ainsley Rodgers were Second Team All-region selections. Laurel Deise received Honorable Mention honors.
