SCISA AA state champion Lee Academy baseball team has five All-Region picks

Six Cavalier softball players All-Region selections

           Bishopville – The SCISA AA state champion Lee Academy baseball team had five players named to the All-Region 1-AA team in Noah Brazell, Andrew Bowers, Brayden Davis, Landon Olson and Myles Frye.

 

           Bowers was the leading hitter for the Cavaliers, who finished with a 17-6 record after sweeping Andrew Jackson Academy in the best-of-3 championship series. He had a .500 batting average with four doubles, one triple, one home run, 26 runs batted in and 27 runs scored. He also had 19 stolen bases.

 

           Davis batted .448 with four doubles, four triples, 21 RBI, 40 runs and 23 stolen bases. The left-handed throwing Davis was a standout pitcher, posting a 6-0 win-loss record in 45 1/3 innings pitched. He struck out 62 and had an earned run average of 2.93.

 

           Brazell batted .368 with two doubles, four triples, 15 RBI, 35 runs and 30 steals. Olson batted .348 with six doubles, 21 RBI and 24 runs.

 

           Frye batted .304 with two doubles, 15 runs and 13 RBI. Frye was 5-2 on the mound with a 3.72 ERA in 43 1/3 innings.

 

           6 LEE SOFTBALL PLAYERS ALL-REGION

 

           Junior Ansley King, freshmen Ansley Nesbit, Jameson Collins and Karagan Melton, eighth-grader Presleigh Greene and seventh-grader Beth Whiteside were Lee softball players selected to the All-Region 1 team.

 

           Nesbit led Lee in hitting with a .559 average, doubles with nine, triples with two, homers with six, RBI with 30 and runs with 32. Collins batted .403 with eight doubles, a triple, three homers, 23 RBI and 19 runs.

 

           King batted .365 and scored 20 runs, while Greene batted .320 with 16 runs. Melton batted .250 with 14 runs, and Whiteside batted .208 with two doubles, a triple and 11 RBI.
