Fox Creek's Bradley Anderson, Addyson Snellings Region 5-AAA Baseball, Softball Players of the Year

John Truesdell places in two events in AAA boys track state meet

           North Augusta Fox Creek High School’s Addyson Snellings was selected as the Region 5-AAA Player of the Year for softball and Predator pitcher Bradley Anderson was the Region 5 Baseball Player of the Year.

 

           Snellings was a dominant force in the circle. She had a 1.96 earned run average in 85 2/3 innings pitched. She had a 14-2 win-loss record and had 89 strikeouts against 29 walks and 64 hits allowed. Offensively, she batted .265 with five doubles.

 

           Anderson was a dominant force on the mound, posting a 4-1 win-loss record with a 2.37 earned run average in 47 1/3 innings pitched. He had 73 strikeouts while allowing just 20 hits and 24 walks. At the plate, he batted .333 with three doubles, two triples, four home runs, 27 runs batted in and 20 run scored.

 

 Snellings was joined on the All-Region sotball team by Hannah Andrews, Karli Hoffstatter, Addison Woodward, Jordyn Grant, Ava Lindsay and Jasmine Grant.

 

           Andrews had a tremendous season, batting .612 with 11 doubles, three triples, two homers, 26 RBI and 42 runs.

 

           Hoffstatter batted .429 with 26 RBI, Woodward batted .311 with a homer and 12 RBI, Jordyn Grant batted .458 with 32 runs and 26 RBI, Lindsay batted .386 with 28 RBI, and Jasmiine Grant batted .324 with 22 RBI and 32 runs.

 

 Joining Anderson on the All-Region baseball team were Devin Hillary, Hank Greene, Jackson Wright, Lawson Lewis, Chance Weathersbee and Caleb Waters.

 

           Hillary had a .423 average with seven doubles, three homers, 30 RBI and 24 runs. Greene batted .3979 with 31 runs and 16 RBI, Wright batted .264 with 19 runs and 12 RBI, Lewis batted .316 with 21 runs and 12 RBI, Weathersbee batted .329 with eight doubles, three triples, a homer and 23 RBI, and Waters batted .400 with six doubles, two homers, 30 runs and 16 RBI.

 

           Hillary was strong on the mound, going 3-0 with a 2.18 ERA in 25 1/3 innings. He had 45 strikeouts.

 

           TRUESDELL PLACES IN 2 EVENTS IN STATE MEET

 

           Fox Creek thrower John Truesdell placed in both the shot put and the discus in the boys portion of the AAA track and field state meet on May 17 at the Richland Northeast track in Columbia.

 

           He finished fifth in the shot with a throw of 14.44 meters. He was sixth in the discus (38.38m).

 

           Mehki Quiller finished fifth in the long jump (6.42m). Caine Goodson was eighth in the high jump (1.85m) and Tripp Crigger was eighth in the 800-meter run (2 minutes, 95.44 seconds).
