Dillon Christian School’s Ethan Moody Named “NETC” Male Student Athlete of the Month

Moody started playing football in the 6th Grade, and baseball when he was in the 8th Grade. He enjoys both sports, but football wins out as his favorite sport. On the diamond, he’s a utility player.
During the fall, Ethan takes the field as a football player and proudly serves as a team captain, demonstrating leadership, both on and off the field. When spring arrives, he trades the football field for the baseball diamond, where he continues to compete as a member of the school’s baseball team.
For all his athletic and academic accomplishments, Ethan Moody has been chosen the “NETC” Male Student Athlete of the Month.”
This honor is bestowed through a partnership between the Northeastern Technical College and “The High School Sports Report” with the publication communicating with athletic directors at high schools in the counties of Dillon, Marlboro, and Chesterfield, where NETC serves the needs of high school students seeking to earn dual credits in various subjects that can be transferred to colleges after a student’s high school graduation.
Through the Dual Credit program offered by the “NETC”, Ethan has completed HIS-101 (World History), HIS-201 (U.S. History), and he is currently enrolled in ENG-101 (English Composition I). These courses provide Ethan with valuable college-level academic experience while allowing him to earn credit toward both his high school and college education. His participation in Dual Credit has also allowed him to make efficient use of his school-day schedule while preparing for the increased academic expectations he will encounter after graduation.
He began taking Dual Credit courses through Northeastern Technical College (NETC) in 2025. He currently holds a 4.45 GPA.
The “NETC” is currently offering over 44 online dual credit courses for the 2026-27 school year to students in the three counties they serve.
Moody is currently enrolled in dual credit courses offered by “NETC” and his plans after high school include studying finance at USC. When asked if he considered continuing athletics after high school, he said that was not in his plans.
Referring to the experience taking “NETC” online courses, Moody commented, “The experience has been very good. It’s helped fill some high school requirements by taking college level classes now, so I’m fulfilling a freshman year pre-requisite also.”
Moody added, “The demands of both my athletic and academic endeavors have taught me time management and my having to plan in order to meet due dates.”
When asked about a memorable moment in his sports career, Moody said, “Last football season, the other team was going for it on a 4th and 2 play; I read the offense. and got a tackle for loss on the play. That set up a three-play scoring drive for us and it made me proud.”
