Cam Jolley leads off bottom of 7th with home run to lift Orangeburg Prep to 5-4 win over Patrick Henry
Laurence Manning to play host to Hammond Thursday at 6 p.m. in AAAA elimination game
Orangeburg – Freshman Cam Jolley hit the first pitch of the bottom of the seventh inning for a home run to lift Orangeburg Prep to a 5-4 victory over Patrick Henry Academy on Wednesday at the OP field in an elimination game in the lower bracket of the SCISA AAA baseball state playoffs.
The left-handed swinging Jolley sent the ball over the right field fence for his second homer of the season to make winners of the Indians, who improved to 13-12 on the season.
Third-seeded Orangeburg Prep will play host to No. 4 Spartanburg Christian Academy at 6 p.m. on Thursday in another elimination game in the 5-team, double-elimination lower bracket. The game between the last undefeated teams will be played on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. with defending state champion and No. 2 Hilton Head Prep visiting No. 1 seed Williamsburg Academy.
Cholly Williams and Marshall Livingston also hit homers. Williams had two hits and two runs batted in. Saylor Kittrell and Maxx Judy both had a hit and scored a run.
Livingston pitched 6 1/3 innings, scattering six hits while striking out five and walking four.
The Patriots finished the year with a 9-11 record. Jacob Corley had two hits, including a triple, with two runs. Scoot Mizzell also had two hits to go with an RBI. Caleb Corley and Keegan Lee both had a hit, and Rylin Brunson had an RBI.

Colleton Prep 2
Mullins – Pee Dee Academy defeated Colleton Prep Academy 12-2 in five innings on Wednesday at the PDA field in an elimination game in the upper bracket of the AAA state playoffs.
The third-seeded Golden Eagles improved to 12-7-1 on the season. They will play host to fourth seed Florence Christian School in an elimination game at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Tristan Heckman pitched and hit PDA to the win. He was 3-for-4 with a homer and allowed no earned runs while striking out nine in pitching all five innings.
In a 5-3 loss to No. 2 seed Greenwood Christian School on Tuesday, Cole Pursley hit a 2-run homer.
The other game on Thursday will have Greenwood Christian visiting No. 1 Calhoun Academy at 6 p.m. in a battle of unbeatens.
Calhoun will bring a 23-1 record into the game after beating FCS 15-0 in four innings on Tuesday. Cullen Sightler had a hit and scored three runs to lead the Cavaliers’ offense.
Joseph Lyons had two hits, one a triple, two runs and two RBI, Asher Ficek had two hits and two RBI, and Mason Knapp had two hits, two RBI and a run. Colt Layton had a double and scored twice.
Treven Gebhart had a hit, two runs and two RBI, Cael Parler had a hit and a run, and Crews Felder scored two runs.
Lyons pitched all four innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out seven.
Brodie Hickson and Jaxon Nealey had the hits for the Eagles.

LMA TO HOST HAMMOND ON THURSDAY
Manning -- Barry Hatfield will get to coach at least one more game at Laurence Manning Academy’s Tucker Belangia Diamond.
Hatfield, who announced his retirement at the end of the regular season after 17 years at LMA, and the Swampcats will play host to Hammond on Thursday at 6 p.m. in an elimination game in the upper bracket of the AAAA state playoffs.
Laurence Manning is the No. 5 seed in the bracket, but since it went on the road and beat No. 4 Hammond 6-4 in the opening game, it gets a home game against the Skyhawks.
Hammond stayed alive in the playoffs by beating No. 3 seed John Paul II 4-2 in an elimination game on Wednesday in Ridgeland.
The Swampcats are 9-12.
The game between the unbeatens in the bracket on Thursday will have No. 2 Augusta Christian School visiting No. 1 and defending state champion Hilton Head Christian Academy at 6 p.m. The 25-1 Eagles beat LMA 10-0 on Tuesday, while ACS beat JPII 2-0.

Sumter – No. 3 seed Wilson Hall stayed alive In the lower bracket of the AAAA playoffs with a 5-3 victory over No. 5 First Baptist in an elimination game on Wednesday at Tommy Jones Field.
The Barons, who improved to 11-7, will play at top seed Pinewood Prep at 6 p.m. on Thursday in another elimination game.
Benson Elmore threw a complete game to get the win. Cooper Hill led the offense, going 2-for-3 with a triple. Henry Jones had a 2-run single.
The other game in the bracket will have No. 2 seed Cardinal Newman playing host too No. 4 Ben Lippen School on Thursday at 6 p.m. in a battle of unbeatens. On Tuesday, Cardinal Newman beat the Barons 11-1, while BLS upset Pinewood 12-10.
