Quarterback Beau Hite, running back Jamerion Moore lead Emerald past Woodruff 52-31

Woodruff – Emerald High School outscored Woodruff 34-10 in the second and third quarters on the way to a 52-31 varsity football win on Friday at the WHS field.

The Vikings, the top-ranked team in the High School Sports Report AAA poll who improved to 3-0 on the season, led 11-7 after one quarter. They outscored the 2-1 Wolverines 21-10 in the second quarter for a 32-17 halftime lead and added 13 more points in the third quarter to tamek a 45-17 advantage into the final stanza.

EHS quarterback Beau Hite completed 8 of 13 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Jamerion Moore ran for 160 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carrioes, and Coleson Marino had two catches for 64 yards.

Connor Davis completed 18 of 28 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns to lead Woodruff, ranked third in the AA poll His top target was Curtis Bell with six catches for 76 yards and a score.

Dillon 32

Cheraw 28

Cheraw – Geno Lester scoed on a 4-yard run in the fourth quarter to lift Dillon to a 32-28 football victory over Cheraw on Friday at the CHS field.

     The Wildcats, who improved to 2-1 on the season and are ranked fifth in the AA poll, led 18-7 at halftime. They took an 18-14 lead into the fourth quarter before the teams traded two scores apiece.

     Nibras Harrison tossed four touchdown passes for DHS. The first was a 9-yarder to Jamarion Campbell, the second an 8-yarder to Keshawn Ray. the third a 30-yarder to Kamaun Jacobs and the fourth a 24-yarder to Campbell.

     Harrison completed 13 of 23 passes for 147 yards while rushing for 54 yards on 12 carries. Lester ran for 47 yards on 14 carries, while Noah Singletary had 46 yards on nine carries.

     Campbell had seven catches for 54 yards.

     Cheraw, ranked eighth in the HSSR Class A Division I poll, fell to 1-2.,

Loris 49

South Columbus 0

Loris – Deuce Stephens ran for thtree touchdowns and Ayden Scott tossed three TD passes to lead Loris to a 49-9 win over South Columbus of North Carolina on Friday at the LHS field.

     The Lions, who improved to 3-0 and are ranked 10th in AAA, led 28-0 after one quarter and 49-0 at halftime.

     Stephens had scoring runs of 62, 26 and 44 yards. He ran for 175 yards on eight carries.

Suggs compleed 8 of 10 passes for 271 yards and the three TDs. O B Clark had three catches for 173 yards, including scoring receptions of 82 and 86 yards.

Roderick Purcha had a 66-yard TD catch and a 73-yard scoring run.

Clinton 39

Newberry 28

     Newberry – Owen Glenn ran for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead Clinton to a 39-28 victory over Newberry on Friday at the NHS field.

Glenn rushed for 129 yards with TDs of 80 and 21 yards on seven carries. He completed 3 of 6 passes for 71 yards, including a 30-yard TD oass to Graydon Watkins. He had two catches for 67 yards.

Cam Croft rushed for 51 yards and a score on three carries, while A’Javian James had 39 yards and a TD on seven carries. Bryant James rushed for 49 yards on 11 carries.

The Bulldogs, who fell to 1-2, were led by quarterback Sincerer Glymph. He rushed for 122 yards and three TDs on 25 carries while completing 12 of 16 passes for 137 yards and one score.

Northside Christian 62

Spartanburg Day 10

Spartanburg – Northside Christian Academy jumped out to a 28-0 lead after one quarter and rolled to a 62-10 victory over Spartanburg Day School on Friday at the SDS field.

BJ Suitts led the way for NCA, which improved to 4-0 and is ranked fourth in the SCISA AAA poll, with three rushing touchdowns and one interception return for a touchdown. The scoring runs were for four, five and 77 yards, while the Pick 6 covered 75 yards. Suitts rushed for 152 yards on eight carries.

Joshua Weston had two TD runs, while Gunner Freeman returned an INT 36 yards for a touchdown. The Crusaders’ other scores were a 22-yard pass from Connor Howell to Alex Hoffman and an 80-yard run by Mac Jackson.

Northwestern 68

Stratford 12

Rock Hill – Northwestern led 61-0 at halftime and went on to a 68-12 victory over Stratford on Friday at Rock Hill District 3 Stadium.

The Trojans, the defending AAAAA Division II state champions and ranked sixth in AAAAA, improved to 2-1. Quarterback Xavier Means completed 10 of 15 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Van Robinson had two catches for 82 yards and two scores.

Scoring for the Gators, who fell to 0-3, were Kobie Mayes on a 14-yard run and Jayden Lee on a 5-yard pass from Caleb Lott.

South Florence 41

Ashley Ridge 23

     Florence – South Florence picked up its first victory under head coach Scott Braswell with a 41-23 triumph over Ashley Ridge on Friday at Bruin Stadium.

Cameron James ran for 191 yards and a TD on 26 carries for South, which improved to 1-2. Jayden Allen had 73 yards and a score on 13 carries, while quarterback De’eric Davis had two scoring runs.

Davis also completed 12 of 20 passes for 225 yards and a touchdown. Mah’kai Eaddy had six catches for 122 yards and the TD catch.

Sumter 35

West Florence 0

Sumter – Jamarion Witherspoon and Reggie Shannon both ran for over 100 yards to help Sumter to a 35-0 victory over West Florence on Friday at Memorial Stadium.

Witherspoon ran for 166 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Shannon had 116 yards and three scores on 18 carries.

SHS, which improved to 2-1 and is ranked 10th in AAAAA, limited the 1-2 Knights to 119 yards of total offense.

Zhyier Butler led the Gamecock defense with two interceptions and nine tackles. Damarion Holmes had eight tackles and an interception, and Rashaun Dickey had five tackles and two tackles for a loss.

Scott’s Branch 58

Hannah-Pamplico 13

Pamplico -- Scott’s Branch picked up its first win of the season with a 58-13 triumph over Hannah-Pamplico on Friday at the H-P field.

Kaleb Minger completed 12 of 15 passes for for 163 yards and two touchdowns for the 1-2 Eagles. Quintin Jackson ran for 141 yards and two scores on six carries, while Nyren Bowman had six catches for 97 yards and a TD to go with four knockdown blocks.

Defensively, Bowman had 10 solo tackles, five assists and three tackles for a loss. Danny Ragin had four solo stops, five assists, one quartrerback sack and one interception.

Majestic Hatcher rturned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown and returned a kickoff 74 yards.

Camden 49

Hartville 21

Camden – Camden improved to 2-1 with a 49-21 victory over Hartsville on Friday at Zemp Stadium.

It was the 97th meeting between the two schools.

Greyson Rimpf completed 9 of 15 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns for the Bulldogs, the No. 3 team in AAA. Isaiah Smith had three catches for 169 yards and two TDs.

Bernard Green had two catches for 37 and 112 returns yards to go with a touchdown. Aadan Manning ran for 86 yards and a score on eight carries.

Hartsville, ranked fifth in AAA, fell to 1-2.
