Predators baseball team reaches if game of district tournament

North Augusta Derrick Quinn’s quote about the season his Fox Creek High School softball team had was succinct and to the point.

“We had a very good season,” said the Predators veteran head coach.

Fox Creek finished the season with an 18-7 record and reached the championship game of its district tournament in the AAA state playoffs before getting knocked off by Loris.

The Predators were led by Ava Lindsay, who was named to the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association AAA All-State team. She was also chosen to play in the North-South All-Star Game and was an All-Region 4-AAA selection as well.

Lindsay batted .469 with 10 doubles, a triple, 29 runs batted in and 22 runs scored.

Joining Lindsay on the All-Region team were Addison Woodward, Jordyn Grant, Jada Jennings, Addie Goff and Emma Widener.

FOX CREEK BASEBALL FALLS IN IF GAME

The fox Creek baseball team reached the championship round of its district tournament and even took Waccamaw to an if game before finally falling.

Fox Creek beat Marlboro County 4-1 in its opener before losing to Waccamaw 8-7. The Predators then had to face Marlboro County again and came away with a 7-2 triumph.

Fox Creek pounded Waccamaw 15-4 in the first game. The second game took on a totally different look though as the Warriors came away with a 2-1 triumph. The Predators finished 20-8-1.

The Predators hit .359 as a team

Lawson Lewis led the way with a .468 batting average, six doubles, four triples, four home runs, 24 runs batted in and 36 runs scored.
