LADY PATRIOTS READY FOR ANOTHER TITLE RUN

Johnston, S.C. - The Wardlaw Academy Lady Patriots coached by Kristina Spurlock are working hard to make another deep run in the SCISA Class A Championship tournament.
Last season the Lady Patriots came up short as they fell to the Curtis Baptist Lady Crusaders in the Championship game.
The Lady Patriots have already faced Curtis Baptist twice in the young 2025-26 season. They defeated Curtis at home 56-43 and lost to Curtis 42-23 on the road. The other loss this season was to Laurens Academy 53-32. The Lady Patriots have wins over Mead Hall (52-24) and Jefferson Davis (47-43).
In the early games Coach Spurlock is getting strong play from her seniors Taylor Hill, Katherine Trotter and Briana McNeil. Hill is averaging 16 points per game. McNeil is averaging 6 points per game and Trotter follows at 4 points per game.
The remaining roster players are being led by eighth grader Mary Blanche Stark with an 8- point average. Another eighth grader Savannah McNeil has a 6-point average.
Rounding out the Lady Patriots roster Brooklyn Proctor (fr), Trinity Santiago (so), Lillie Stocum (so) and Charlotte Grace Culver (fr).
The Lady Patriots compete in SCISA Region 3-A against W W King Academy, Newberry Academy and Richard Winn Academy. Anderson Christian and Cambridge Academy do not have varsity girls basketball this season.
The Wardlaw boys coached by Austin Spurlock is still in rebuilding mode but are showing progress despite a 1-4 start to the 2025-26 season.
Sam Coughenour is the only senior on the Patriot roster. The strength of the Patriots is being provided by the five juniors Kale Henderson, Jake Winn, Thomas Proctor, Chandler Thorne and Cooper Davis.
Rounding out the Patriot roster is Camden Bracco (fr), Ben Hundo (fr), Liam Fields (fr), Andrew Smith (so) and Jon Rodgers (so).
