Summerville – The Ashley Ridge swimmers had the best performance at their region championship meet.
Swimmers representing the seven schools in Class 5A Region 5 competed at the North Charleston Aquatics Center Oct. 2 during the 2026 Region 5 Swimming Championships. Stall didn’t send a complete team to the meet, but did have some individuals compete.
“I feel we were pretty spot on today,” said Ashley Ridge coach Victoria Merritt. “It gave us a good opportunity to learn some stuff we can fix before we go to the state meet. We had some great swims so that is all I can really ask for, everybody trying to do the best they can.”
The 5A Boys State Swimming Championships are scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at the University of South Carolina Natatorium in Columbia. The 5A Girls State Swimming Championships are scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 8 at the same location.
