Summerville – Pinewood Prep had a lot of success on the gridiron this fall and should be in good shape entering its second season under the guidance of coach DeVonte’ Holloman.
“Our defense played well,” Holloman said. “Sometimes our offense started slow, but our coaches do a good job of adjusting and finding a weakness and then (exploiting) it. Our boys take coaching well which helps. They listen not only to me, but to all our coaches and they play hard. Consistency is important for our program. We just need to continue to come to work every day and to harp on the little things.”
Pinewood’s season ended Nov. 10 with a 42-30 loss to Hilton Head Christian Academy in the second round of the SCISA playoffs. The Panthers claimed a region title this fall and won eight of their last nine games to finish with an 8-4 record.
Pinewood will only lose nine players to graduation. While those seniors will be missed, in 2024 the Panthers stand to return a lot of starters plus some other athletes who picked up considerable experience this season.

Junior QB Asa Windham completed 54 of 92 pass attempts for 885 yards and 11 TDs and rushed for 339 yards and 6 TDs. Combined, the quarterbacking duo only threw seven interceptions.
